WHERE WE STARTED

Trouble Off The Tee was born from a simple idea that golf isn’t just about the scorecard, it’s about the moments that keep us coming back.  The bad shots that turn into inside jokes, the birdies that get replayed for years, and the four-hour escape with friends where nothing else matters but the next swing.

For Marty, golf wasn’t always the plan.  He grew up chasing baseball dreams, convinced that golf would ruin his swing.  But years later, with the promise of a cooler full of beer, a friend convinced him to play a round at a local municipal course built on top of an old landfill.  The course was dotted with ventilation pipes releasing a terrible stench and stray tires popping up through the fairways from the garbage below, but somewhere between the bad shots and the laughs, he got hooked.

Fast forward to today, golf is a constant in Marty’s life.  It’s where he’s made his best memories with his dad, his two boys, and his closest friends.  He had a vision for a golf brand that wasn’t about chasing elite performance or trying to disrupt the game, but instead, celebrating why we love it in the first place. 

The only problem? He didn’t know where to start.

Through golf, Marty connected with Luke, a guy with years of experience supporting brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Victoria’s Secret PINK.  They shared a passion for the game, and instantly, a partnership was formed. With Luke’s expertise and Marty’s vision, they set out to create a brand that speaks to real golfers, those who play for the love of the game, not just the leaderboard.

Trouble Off The Tee isn’t about breaking traditions or reinventing golf.  It’s about embracing everything that makes it special, the camaraderie, the laughs and the 19th hole.  Because at the end of the day, we only get so many rounds. Let’s make them count.

At Trouble Off The Tee, every product starts with real moments from the course, refined through countless rounds of design reviews, sample iterations, and on-course testing by our team of passionate golfers. We custom-design everything in-house, collaborating with talented illustrators, premium sourcing partners, photographers, and manufacturers who share our obsession with quality.

As a true friends and family business, every sample review becomes a team event – from debating stitch placement to testing durability on the course. We produce in limited-edition drops, keeping our batches small while we focus on bringing more creative ideas to life. This hands-on approach allows us to maintain the exceptional quality golfers deserve.
